Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the National Communication Association’s official honor society at four-year colleges and universities. LPH represents what Aristotle described in The Rhetoric as three ingredients of persuasion: logos (Lambda), meaning logic; pathos (Pi), relating to emotion; and ethos (Eta), defined as character credibility and ethics. Lambda Pi Eta recognizes, fosters, and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement while stimulating interest in the communication discipline.
The Rutgers chapters of Lambda Pi Eta – Zeta Delta – serves as a basis for academic and professional growth, in addition to recognizing student excellence within the Communication Department. Lambda Pi Eta will provide access to opportunities in which students can supplement classroom material by actively participating in events and activities. Students are encouraged to explore and discuss areas of interests and present findings in a formal setting.
Applications are accepted twice a year. Eligible candidates must be a communication major; have completed at least 60 credits; have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a communication GPA of 3.25.
